Paul Plsek works as a consultant on improvement and innovation for complex organizations. His health care clients include the United Kingdom's National Health Service, Kaiser-Permanente, the Veterans' Health Administration, the SSM Health Care System, the Virginia Mason Medical Center, and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. He is the chair for innovation at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle; a former senior fellow at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement; an active investigator in research projects with the Vermont-Oxford Network, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and the Institute of Medicine; and a conference speaker. Before starting his own firm, he was director of corporate quality planning at AT&T. He is the author of dozens of peer-reviewed journal articles and three books. Mr. Plsek received an M.S. in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New York.
