Paul Engel, M.Arch. II, is the Director and Curator, Harkness House for the Commonwealth Fund. Mr. Engel is a noted historian and preservationist of New York City architecture and has always had a particular interest in the Harkness House. He has provided design consulting services to the Fund for many years and has assisted in all of the recent projects around the house that have led to numerous favorable mentions within the historical, architectural and preservation world. He leads the tours of the Harkness House sponsored by the Institute of Classical Architecture. Mr. Engel resides in the manager's apartment in Harkness House and is responsible for all aspects of maintaining the Harkness House structure, grounds, HVAC, electrical fire safety and security systems in excellent condition for this historic landmark building. Mr. Engel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and Master of Architecture II from Harvard University.
