More Mandatory Vaccinations for Young Children in France

Starting in 2018, as many as 11 vaccinations will become mandatory for children under the age of 2 in France, up from the current three (diphtheria, tetanus, and poliomyelitis). The regulation comes on the heels of a recent outbreak of measles that affected several European countries, including France. The required vaccinations will be provided at no cost to patients. Among the French public, half view the new mandate favorably, while four in ten believe the risks of vaccinations exceed their benefits.
