Hospital-Acquired Infections Decrease in England

Based on a survey of 60 percent of National Health Service (NHS) trusts in England, hospital-associated infections have decreased from 8.2 percent of all hospital patients in 2006 to 6.4 percent in 2011. This 20 percent decrease is a welcome sign that measures that were put in place to deal with MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and Clostridium difficile infections have made an impact.
