Allison Barlow

Allison Barlow, Ph.D., M.P.H., is the director of the Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health. Her research focuses on child, adolescent, and family health and youth development for reservation-based American Indian communities. She has worked on projects on teen parenting outreach and early child development; suicide, depression, and substance abuse prevention; diabetes and obesity prevention; and youth entrepreneurship and life skills training. She also cofounded the NativeVision program in 1997 with the NFL Players Association to promote Native American youth development. Dr. Barlow has a Ph.D. from University of Amsterdam, an M.P.H. from Johns Hopkins University, and an M.A. from the University of Melbourne.
