George is Senior Lecturer in Practice in Health Policy, having joined the Department in January 2018.
He began his career as an investment banking analyst before joining the Civil Service fast stream where he worked as a policy advisor on a range of areas including EU and financial services regulation, international trade and investment, and industrial strategy for the UK's health and life sciences sector.
George then helped to establish Healthcare UK, a new government agency whose purpose it is to increase engagement by the UK's health care sector in assisting other countries address their health care challenges. As Chief Operating Officer, George worked with stakeholders across government, the NHS, academia and industry, helping to forge co-operation programmes with partner countries which resulted in some significant and large-scale partnerships.
