Grace Shults is a student at The Ohio State University, studying psychology with a social work minor in child abuse and neglect. She is also a full-time patient and has been since she was 16 years old, suffering from the long-term effects of Lyme disease. As a result of that battle, Shults has become a dedicated advocate in the health care policy space. She is a volunteer with Generation Lyme, LymeTV, Center for Lyme Action, and Prescription Justice. She completed the Patients Rising Legislative Master Class in fall 2022. She also volunteers with other policy-related groups in Ohio, including as treasurer at the OSU chapter of the gun policy reform group Students Demand Action, and is a public policy intern with the Ohio Alliance Against Sexual Violence. She also recently completed an internship with the Columbus Women’s Commission through Mayor Andrew J. Ginther’s office. Shults was a 2023 Health Policy Scholar through Generation Patient.
