Yvette Roubideaux is an assistant professor at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman Arizona College of Public Health and College of Medicine at the University of Arizona. Her work involves research, teaching, and program development in the area of diabetes in American Indians, as well as Indian health policy. She received her B.A. degree from Harvard University, her M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School, and her M.P.H. degree from Harvard School of Public Health. She completed the primary care internal medicine residency program at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and then practiced as a medical officer and clinical director in the Indian Health Service in Arizona for four years. She then completed the Commonwealth Fund/Harvard University Fellowship in Minority Health Policy before transitioning to her current career in academic public health. She is a past president of the Association of American Indian Physicians and co-editor of the American Public Health Association's book "Promises to Keep: Public Health Policy for American Indians and Alaska Natives in the 21st Century."
