New Vision for the U.S. Health Care System

Everyone in the United States deserves health care that meets their needs. No matter who you are, where you live, or how much money you make, we should all be able to get and afford great care.

A health system like that requires a shared commitment from all of us to building a healthier, more equitable future — one where people, communities, care providers, government, and industry all play a role. Ultimately, a system works best when it works for everyone. We may be far from that now, but we believe that with vision, purpose, and innovation, we can get there.

That’s why over the next three years, the Commonwealth Fund will engage people and health care leaders across the country to answer one big question: What do you want our health care future to look like? By listening to patients, learning about their lived experiences, and looking to the future, we seek to define what an ideal health system could and should be — and then chart a practical path to getting there.

If you would like to stay engaged with the Fund’s New Vision for the U.S. Health Care System sign up here or follow us . . .
