Health Equity
The Commonwealth Fund is committed to achieving health equity in the United States. To us, health equity means that everyone, regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, geographic location, or socioeconomic status — can get high-quality care. The Commonwealth Fund tracks health insurance coverage, affordability, and health outcomes for different U.S. racial and ethnic groups —Asian, Black, Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander, and white [CH1] [JB2] — as well as for different income groups and geographic regions. We also highlight policies and practices that can achieve an equitable system for all.
