Farah Yousry

Farah Yousry is a health equity reporter for WFYI Side Effects Public Media. Her project will focus on the life expectancy gap between neighboring Indianapolis zip codes, which can reach 14 years. By personalizing data, Ms. Yousry will highlight the health care challenges faced by local residents in Black communities that put them at such a life expectancy disadvantage. The project will collaborate with the Indianapolis Recorder, one of the oldest Black newspapers in the nation, and also will look at health systems outside of Indianapolis that have been successful in helping overcome this life expectancy gap.
