Sarah K. Emond, M.P.P., is president-elect of the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER), having previously served as its chief operating officer since 2009. Prior to joining ICER, she spent time as a communications consultant: in corporate communications and investor relations at a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company and at a health care communications firm. Emond began her health care career in clinical research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She speaks frequently at national conferences on the topics of prescription drug pricing policy, comparative effectiveness research, and value-based health care. Emond earned an M.P.P. with a concentration in health policy from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, and a B.S. in biological sciences from Smith College.
