Tanisha Carino

Tanisha Carino, Ph.D., is a director at Avalere Health LLC, focusing on evidence-based medicine issues. Her work also covers the evolution of public and private payers' use of evidence in formulating coverage and reimbursement decisions, and trends in quality improvement initiatives in the Medicare program. Prior to joining Avalere, Dr. Carino was a policy analyst in the coverage and analysis group at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She has also worked as an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality research fellow and Fulbright scholar, and as an analyst for Abt Associates, a consulting firm. Dr. Carino holds a B.A. from Emory University and a Ph.D. in health policy from Johns Hopkins University.
