This grant covers Phase 1 of a three-phase plan to maximize the impact of proposed policies to extend Medicaid coverage to people who are incarcerated. The research team will gather input on proposed policies through interviews with key stakeholders and will synthesize their findings into a series of timely issue briefs for policymakers. They also will convene a group of stakeholders from across the health sector, criminal justice sector, and consumer and racial justice organizations to promote consensus on policy issues and obtain input for issues to be addressed in later project phases, including implementation of policy changes and service delivery innovations.
