Medicare faces an array of challenges as it reaches the half-century mark. In a series of four to six papers, the project team, in consultation with Commonwealth Fund staff and leadership, will help frame the major issues Medicare faces and identify policy options for addressing them. This work will complement the Fund’s series of reports examining Medicare’s past, present, and future, currently being rolled out to mark the program’s 50th anniversary later this summer.
