International Examples of Responses to COVID-19

Vox Media’s health policy team will work on comprehensive reporting project (six articles and three or more podcasts) on how health systems around the world coped with the COVID-19 pandemic. The countries and stories featured will be decided with input from the Commonwealth Fund, and possible nations and topics covered may include: South Korea: learning lessons from a pandemic past; Denmark: addressing the pandemic through social determinants of health; Slovakia: how to build public trust in a pandemic; Germany: how one country successfully protected long-term care facilities; United Kingdom: how the U.K. became a leader in developing COVID-19 therapies; and Italy: a success story of expanding hospital capacity in a crisis. The Fund’s international program will provide connections to country experts when possible.
