Biography at time of Mongan Commonwealth Fund Fellowship: Asare Christian, M.D., was most recently a resident in the Department of Physical Medical and Rehabilitation at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He was a 2012 National Institutes of Health/National Medical Association Academic Fellow. That year, he also received the American College of Medical Quality National Quality Scholar Award and was named as an Armstrong Institute Resident Scholar.
Dr. Christian’s goal is to contribute solutions to health disparities in the United States and abroad. In his role as Ghana representative to the International Rehabilitation Forum, Dr. Christian drafted a proposal to start medical rehabilitation clinical services at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Ghana.
Dr. Christian received his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, in 2009.
