Brian J. Miller

Brian J. Miller, M.D., M.B.A., M.P.H., is an assistant professor of medicine and business at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he is a practicing hospitalist, health care policy researcher, and health policy analyst. His research focuses on payment policy, competition policy, and Food and Drug Administration regulatory policy. Dr. Miller is a consultant to the Federal Trade Commission Bureau of Consumer Protection on health insurance. He has extensive regulatory experience, having previously worked at four regulatory agencies, most recently as a medical officer in the Office of New Drugs at the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research at the Food and Drug Administration. Dr. Miller was a senior policy fellow for Health Information Technology at the Federal Communications Commission, a special advisor at the Federal Trade Commission, and a fellow at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. He is board certified in internal medicine and general preventive medicine and public health.
