Nicole Amodio, M.P.H., is a research assistant at Yale School of Medicine, where she drove a mixed-methods study aimed at understanding factors influencing access to and perceived effectiveness of perinatal health care for mother–infant dyads. Her research team explored perspectives, preferences, pregnancy and postpartum health knowledge, and opportunities to empower mothers from historically marginalized or underrepresented backgrounds and inform strategies for improving maternal–child health outcomes. She currently works with the Strong Heart Study, the country’s largest and longest-running epidemiological study of Native Americans, where she focuses on morbidity and mortality surveillance, as well as their air quality and HPV studies. Amodio earned an M.P.H. in community assessment, program design, implementation and evaluation and maternal and child health from the Boston University School of Public Health.
