Thomas Vilches, Ph.D., is a medical physicist who received his doctorate in biometry from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), Brazil, in 2019. He has been working with mathematical and computational modeling of infectious diseases and collaborating with York University’s ABM-Lab since 2017. After a two-year postdoctoral position at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil, Vilches returned to the ABM-Lab as a postdoctoral fellow to work on disease dynamics, especially the COVID-19 pandemic.
