Several states are working with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in a demonstration program to better integrate care for dual eligibles, or those covered by both Medicare and Medicaid. As part of Commonwealth Fund–supported work to ensure consumer involvement in this program, researchers at the National Senior Citizens Law Center published an issue brief outlining lessons from states' efforts to educate beneficiaries about the goals of the demonstration program and enroll them in the new Medicaid-Medicare plans.
