Most People Say Health Insurance Premiums for Marketplace Plans Are Affordable

Doctor Patient

The subsidies provided through the Affordable Care Act's health insurance marketplaces appear to be working. According to a new Commonwealth Fund study, 61 percent of people who paid premiums for a plan they purchased found it very or somewhat easy to pay them. More than two-thirds of adults with low-to-moderate incomes (defined as under $28,725 for an individual) had a premium of less than $125 a month for single coverage, similar to people with employer coverage.
