New 'Talking Health' Episode on the Affordable Care Act

The latest episode of CUNY-TV's Talking Health series, which explores health care policies and practices in the U.S., explains how the health insurance provisions in the reform law will work. "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act," hosted by Mike Gilliam, is now available on commonwealthfund.org. Gilliam is joined by Danielle Holahan, deputy director of the New York State Health Benefit Exchange, who answers questions about how individuals and small businesses will be able to buy affordable and high-quality health benefit plans in a transparent and competitive insurance marketplace. CUNY-TV correspondent Melissa Rose Cooper goes on location to interview a 34-year-old Queens, New York, resident about the difficulties he's faced in obtaining health insurance coverage, and reporter Kizzy Cox talks with a small business owner about providing coverage for his employees. Talking Health is sponsored by The Commonwealth Fund.
