Earlier this month, President Obama announced a transitional policy that will allow many Americans whose insurance companies have cancelled their health coverage to remain in their plans. The president offered the policy as a way to honor his promise that Americans who wish to keep their insurance can do so, even though the plans don't comply with the Affordable Care Act's consumer protections.
