State Action Round-Up on Affordable Care Act Implementation

In less than six months, the major health insurance provisions of the Affordable Care Act will go into effect. To keep you up to date on implementation efforts, The Commonwealth Fund has published the second in a series of blog posts that provide an overview of action on the new state health insurance marketplaces, or exchanges, and the expansion in Medicaid eligibility.

New posts, prepared by The Commonwealth Fund's Tracy Garber and Sara Collins, will be published as states decide whether to participate in the Medicaid expansion and as the state insurance marketplaces take shape across the country.

Visit The Commonwealth Fund Blog to read about state progress in health reform implementation, including the new low premium rates for health plans sold through New York's state marketplace and the U.S. Treasury Department's one-year delay in the requirement that firms employing 50 or more people pay a penalty if their workers become eligible for subsidies through the state marketplaces.
