A special opportunity for state officials who purchase health insurance on behalf of state employees and retirees is coming up at the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) annual conference on October 7. The Commonwealth Fund, NASHP, and the Brookings Institution are pleased to sponsor a breakfast meeting, titled "Innovating for Value in State Employee Health Coverage." This event will enable state employee health plan purchasers to come together to learn about innovative strategies to improve quality and contain costs, to think strategically about maximizing value as a purchaser, and to share their experiences and ideas. We hope you can join us on October 7 in Tampa. There are a limited number of scholarships available that may enable you to attend this invitational breakfast meeting and the full Health Policy Conference, which includes a number of additional relevant sessions.
