SHANOOR SEERVAI: Welcome to our new season of The Dose, the Commonwealth Fund’s podcast about what the U.S. could do differently when it comes to health care. I'm your host, Shanoor Seervai, and I’m excited to bring you new episodes that focus on solutions and feature important emerging voices. Take a listen to what one of our upcoming guests has to say about global vaccine inequity.

PRITI KRISHTEL: I think that people understand that leaving medicine, vaccine, ventilator, PPE distribution to the market, is not going to help lead us out of this pandemic as quickly as possible. And I think people understand that we need a new set of rules to ensure that either bringing this pandemic to a close, or thinking about being better prepared for future ones, we need a better system and governments have to play a greater leadership role in that new system.

SHANOOR SEERVAI: Subscribe to The Dose wherever you find your podcasts so you never miss an episode.
