The mission of the Commonwealth Fund is to promote a high-performing health care system that achieves better access, improved quality, and greater efficiency, particularly for society's most vulnerable, including low-income people, the uninsured, minority Americans, young children, and elderly adults.
The Fund carries out this mandate by supporting independent research on health care issues and making grants to improve health care practice and policy. Over its 100 years, the Fund has worked by:
- Demonstrating pioneering approaches and evaluating their results
- Convening experts across background and disciplines
- Publishing the results of our research and disseminating evidence
- Developing leaders.
To apply for a grant from the Commonwealth Fund, please send us a letter of inquiry. We will contact you if we need more information, and will request full grant proposals in cases where there may be a fit with our programs’ funding priorities.
