This grant consists of three items to continue to assess the regulatory changes to the Medicare program and will: 1) build on the previous COVID-19 Medicare Study Series and provide updates to the policy tracker through January of 2021; 2) analyze the opportunities and risks of making certain regulatory changes permanent (focusing on telehealth, alternate sites of care, and benefits and care management) along with providing recommendations to improve upon the proposed regulations; and 3) compare the characteristics of multiple payment mechanisms for primary care providers and the relative positives and negatives of each for providers and beneficiaries during the COVID-19 pandemic through stakeholder interviews.
