This project will increase awareness of tactics referred to as patent evergreening by providing researched, fact‐based examples for stakeholders to understand how evergreening strategies play out in practice. These “deep dives” will include one small molecule drug and one biologic to help stakeholders understand the types of patent applications companies file and are awarded and the resulting patent estates. The aim of these “deep dives” will be to help policymakers and stakeholders have a better understanding of abuses in the current patent system and where to focus future policy efforts. These fact‐based, educational materials will be disseminated through publication, meetings, and outreach to policymakers, and a Fund‐sponsored webinar for media.
