The Commonwealth Fund at 100: Defining, Measuring, and Promoting Health Care Quality

<p>As part of our celebration of the Commonwealth Fund’s centennial, the United Hospital Fund’s Anne-Marie J. Audet, M.D., and Anthony Shih, M.D., recall the early days of the health care quality improvement movement, when efforts to standardize performance measurement and document problems in care delivery helped catalyze action.   </p><p>In a new post on <em>To the Point</em>, the two former leaders of the Fund’s Program on Health Care Quality Improvement (2002–12) discuss their work to make health care performance data more widely available and usable, develop evidence-based delivery models, and find ways to incentivize high-quality care. </p>
