Commonwealth Fund Fellowship to Train Leaders in Minority Health Expands to Yale University
With financial support from the Commonwealth Fund, the Yale University School of Management today launched a new fellowship dedicated to helping clinicians who want to improve care for vulnerable populations. In a new To the Point post, Commonwealth Fund President David Blumenthal, M.D., observes that this new fellowship reaffirms the Fund’s historical commitment to addressing inequities in the U.S. health care system.
The Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Minority Health Leadership at Yale University is open to clinicians applying to Yale’s MBA for Executives (EMBA) program, focusing on those who seek to understand the persistent inequities in the U.S. health care system and gain the frameworks, insights, and professional connections necessary to forge solutions.
The Commonwealth Fund will also continue to support the Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Minority Health Policy at Harvard University, which since 1996 has offered intensive study in health policy, public health, and management for physicians committed to transforming health care delivery systems for vulnerable populations.
Together these two programs will support the education of at least eight health care leaders each year, five at Harvard and three at Yale.
