Journalists: Applications Being Accepted for Symposium on the Business of Health Care and Health Care Reform

<p>The Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW) is accepting applications from journalists to attend a symposium in New York City on the business aspects of health care and health care reform. The symposium will be held January 17–18, 2013. </p><p>Supported by a grant from The Commonwealth Fund, the symposium will be limited to 12–14 journalists selected through an application process. The application deadline is Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. Eastern time. </p>
<p>Symposium presenters will address Affordable Care Act implementation, state-based health insurance exchanges, Medicare reform, Medicaid expansion, health care payment innovation and reform, employee insurance plans, and more. </p>
<p>The symposium will be geared to experienced reporters from media companies nationwide. Participants will be selected by SABEW and an advisory committee, and be given fellowships that cover travel, hotel, and other costs for the program, which will be held at Reuters headquarters at 3 Times Square. </p>
<p>Journalists hoping to attend the two-day seminar should apply by sending a letter of interest and a resume to Warren Watson, Executive Director, SABEW, Suite 416, Cronkite School, 555 North Central, Phoenix, AZ 85004. In the letter, applicants should explain their background and interest in the topic and benefits they believe they would derive from participation. </p>
