Proposed Premium Rate Increases for 2016: The Jury Is Still Out
<p>After last spring’s deadline for health insurers to submit their proposed rate requests for 2016, there were plenty of eye-catching headlines regarding double-digit increases.</p><p>But as Georgetown University’s Sean Miskell and David Cusano explain in a new blog post, rate requests vary considerably by insurance carrier and location. Moreover, before being approved and passed on to consumers, requests are subject to scrutiny by the states to ensure they are reasonable.</p>
