It's time again for The Social Share, a biweekly newsletter designed to help you build your social audience one tweet at a time.

Are you ready for another week of advice? Before we begin, I want to say thanks to all of you who replied to the last issue with kind words and 'welcome backs'. By no means do I intend to sound like an ingrate, but it was really difficult to find a question for this week's installment as so much of the mailbag was comprised of letters of praise. But, fear not, I found one. Let's tear it open, eh?

Hey Social Share,

There are too many people on Twitter! Every time I login, I'm inundated with messages from people from all over the world, talking about all sort of different topics. I've recently identified a few accounts I really want to hear from and deleted the rest. My question is, how can I find more accounts similar to the handful of them that survived the recent culling?

Thanks,

P.S. - I recently launched a start-up called "Letter Box" -- it's a subscription service that ships a box full of newsletters to members each month. Can I include The Social Share?

Thanks for the question, but I think you're asking the wrong person here. I can tell how to find accounts similar to those you like following, but other Twitter users can provide you with specific names. What you want to look at is Lists.

On Twitter, list are curated by individuals and are often topic based. To use them, Go to the bio page of your favorite Twitter user and look at the list to the right of their icon.

<drupal-entity data-embed-button="media_browser" data-entity-embed-display="media_image" data-entity-type="media" data-entity-uuid="2e3d11d2-fe1a-4d8e-a526-083c0e7d3d1e"></drupal-entity>

Click on 'Lists'. You should see two options, Subscribed To and Member Of. Click on Subscribed to to discover which accounts on Twitter this user values most highly, the name of the list should clue you in as to why. Click on Member Of to see a whole host of lists that users have added your favorite user to. Scan the titles of these lists for topics that appeal to you and click through to find a trove of users similar to your favorite user.

If you'd like a walk-through on this process, just ask. I'd be more than happy to visit you office for a quick demo.
