Updated Toolkit for Collecting Race, Ethnicity, and Language Data

In 2005, the Health Research and Educational Trust (HRET) created a Web-based toolkit, with Commonwealth Fund support, to help health plans, hospitals, and other providers collect information on race, ethnicity, and primary language. This practical guide shows how such information can be collected in a systematic way that meets regulatory and local community demands.

An updated version of the Disparities Toolkit for Collecting Patient Race, Ethnicity, and Primary Language Data is now available free of charge on the HRET Web site, thanks to HRET and American Hospital Association support. The new edition, which can be viewed online and downloaded as a PDF, is easy to navigate and offers important new material.
