The Mongan Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Minority Health Policy prepares physicians for leadership roles in transforming health care delivery systems to improve access to high-quality care for minority, disadvantaged, and vulnerable populations. The fellowship is based at Harvard Medical School under the direction of Joan Reede, M.D., M.P.H., M.S., M.B.A., the dean for diversity and community partnership. Up to five one-year, degree-granting fellowships are awarded annually, with the potential for an optional second-year of practicum experience.

Fellows complete academic work leading to a master of public health (M.P.H.) degree at the Harvard School of Public Health and are provided with core fellowship components such as seminars on leadership and health policy, a practicum, leadership forums, conferences, site visits, mentoring, journal clubs, and shadowing. The fellowship offers a master of public administration (M.P.A.) degree at the Harvard Kennedy School to physicians who already have an M.P.H. The application deadline for the 2013–2014 fellowship is December 15, 2012.

This webinar will provide information about the fellowship, and a former fellow will discuss her experience in the program. It will end with a question-and-answer session.
