Webinar for Potential German Harkness Fellowship Applicants

<p>The Commonwealth Fund invites you to a webinar on the Harkness Fellowships in Health Care Policy and Practice on July 18 at 3:30 p.m. CEST (9:30 a.m. EST). The webinar will address eligibility, how the fellowship works, its relevance to German applicants, and the fellowship experience.</p><p>Speakers include:</p>

<li>Robin Osborn, vice president and director, The Commonwealth Fund's International Health Policy and Practice Innovations program; </li>
<li>Stuart Guterman, vice president, The Commonwealth Fund’s Medicare & Cost Control program; </li>
<li>Dr. Alexander Schachtrupp, director of B. Braun Stiftung, and</li>
<li>Julia Kreis, a 2009–10 German fellow.</li>
</ul>
<p>The Harkness Fellowships provide a unique opportunity for mid-career professionals—academic researchers, government policymakers, clinical leaders, hospital and insurance managers, and journalists—from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom—to spend up to 12 months in the United States working with leading experts to study health care delivery reforms and critical issues on the health policy agenda in both the U.S. and their home countries. The Commonwealth Fund brings together the full class of fellows throughout the year to participate in a series of high-level policy briefings and leadership seminars with health care leaders.</p>
<p>The fellowship awards up to U.S. $119,000 in support, with an additional supplemental family allowance of approximately $55,000. </p>
<p>The deadline for receipt of applications from Germany is November 17, 2014.</p>
