Sara Federman joined the Commonwealth Fund in 2021 as a program assistant in the Federal and State Health Policy program. She is responsible for a variety of duties ranging from daily administrative and grants management tasks to writing, editing, and policy support. Previously, she served as a program assistant for Public Health Preparedness for Seattle and King County. There, she provided organizational and program management support to Public Health staff leading the county’s COVID-19 response. She also designed and developed products that were utilized across the department, including a toolkit on conducting after-action reviews of COVID-19 response work and a best practices manual for equitable hiring. Federman received her B.A. in psychology from Whitman College.
