Ontario’s new plan for home and community care will provide funding for an additional 80,000 hours of nursing care to meet the needs of patients with complex care needs. This comes as part of a $750 million investment to expand home and community care over the next three years. These extra nursing hours will make it possible for complex patients to get the care they need outside of a hospital or long-term care facility. The new plan for home care also includes expanding support for family caregivers and providing greater choice for palliative and end-of-life care.
