A new brief from the National Academy for State Health Policy offers advice to state policymakers on using peer-support specialists to help integrate behavioral and physical health care for those with serious mental illnesses. The brief was written as part of a Commonwealth Fund–supported effort to help states develop strategies for meeting the physical health, behavioral health, and social service needs of low-income and vulnerable patients.
