To better understand the experiences of high-need, high-cost patients, we talked to adults living with three or more health conditions that limit their ability to do things like get out of bed, dress, or bathe themselves. Researchers also conducted a focus group of caregivers. In a new To the Point, The Commonwealth Fund’s Jamie Ryan and Meredith Brown present the themes that emerged from these conversations, including concerns about the affordability and accessibility of care, and patients’ receptivity to using technology to help manage their care.
