Medicaid’s Role in Caring for Flint: An Update

Earlier this month, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services approved Michigan’s proposal to expand Medicaid eligibility and coverage for lower-income children and pregnant women affected by Flint’s lead crisis. As George Washington University’s Sara Rosenbaum explains in a new blog post, however, the Obama administration did not approve the state’s proposal to use federal Medicaid funds for lead abatement.
