In a Commonwealth Fund–supported study (Health Affairs, Feb. 2017), Heidi Whitmore and colleagues with NORC at the University of Chicago compared premiums and other costs in ACA-compliant health insurance plans—those that cover 10 essential benefits—to costs in plans that were “grandfathered” or “grandmothered” under the health reform law.
