Mobile Health — a 15-year-old company that delivers health care to rural areas in New Zealand by bus — has created the Rural Health Hub to expand its mission to include mental health services. The hub includes rural institutions like Young Farmers and Rural Support Trust that are assigned to improve awareness and support for mental health patients and reduce suicide rates. The initiative has been well received by the community, and recently received additional $500,000 for “rural mental health wellness” from the federal government.
