Norway’s Ministry of Health and Care commissioned the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development to assess how the country’s overall health expenditures compare with spending in other high-income countries. The January report found Norway to be among the top spenders on health care per capita, but much closer to the average when considering spending as a share of GDP. The report also looked at Norway’s level of spending on long-term care, inpatient care for nonpsychiatric conditions, medical prices, and other factors.
