In response to the U.S. suspension of funding to nongovernmental organizations in foreign countries that provide abortion services or abortion advocacy, the Dutch government pledged about $10.6 million to a global fund for family planning. The funds aim to ensure that women and girls in developing countries have access to reproductive health services, including abortions. Seventeen countries, including Canada, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, and Luxembourg, have promised to contribute to the fund.
