Google launched its medical search engine, Health Cards, in Australia in late January. In response to the large number of searches for medical information, Google partnered with medical professionals to provide verified information for minor ailments like the common cold. Some Australian doctors are concerned the initiative may make people anxious or lead them to forgo necessary medical treatment, but others embrace a “watch and wait” approach.
