In January, British Prime Minister Theresa May announced a new plan to transform the NHS’s provision of mental health services, including an emphasis on early diagnosis and treatment for children and youth. The plan will entail:
- A £1 billion per year ($1.25 billion USD) increase on mental health spending
- Training opportunities for secondary school staff in mental health first aid
- A partnership with employers to promote mental health in the workplace
- Use of digital mental health services to enable people to access therapy online.
