A Commonwealth Fund–supported study illustrating the potential gains in health and efficiency if decision-makers at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services were to take into account cost-effectiveness when making coverage decisions has been named "Paper of the Year" by the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR). The award, given to an article published in ISPOR's journal Value in Health the previous year, will be presented to study author James Chambers, assistant professor at the Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies at Tufts Medical Center, later this spring.
